In recent years his main focus has been large outdoor murals, two of which can be seen in Vevay, Indiana. The first and largest is on the Historic Hoosier Theater. This two year project was completed in 1998 and measures 140 x 60 feet. It depicts Vevay as a busy river town of 1900. You can also see his work as you enter Vevay from the east. This mural is a group of "old time photos" of Vevay and surrounding area. Another project, still in the works, is on the side of an apartment building on Market Street. Travel to Osgood, Indiana to see the mural Joe finished in the spring of 2006. It is on the side of the Damn Theater and shows an old steam engine as it pulls into the depot at Osgood. Josiah also trains horses. He uses a gentle method of comfort and discomfort. Roundpen training and long "deep woods" trail rides are emphasized. He also teaches neck reining, roll back, side passing. Reining horses and trail horses are his specialty. |
